OCR: In infants, artificial respiration is given mouth-to-mouth and nose. While supporting the chin or neck, open your mouth and place it firmly over both the child's mouth and nose. Give two breaths as you would for an adult, but give only a puff of air. Remember the child's lungs are much smaller than yours, and the amount of air in your cheeks will be sufficient to ventilate them. Remember to check to be sure their chest rises with each breath. If it does not, or you feel too much resistance to your breaths, stop and re- position the head. If this still does not work, assume an obstruction.
